band aids

i hadn't owned bandaids in years. then a few weeks ago i shut my bedroom door on the back of my heel and tore it up pretty bad. so i called up my friend sarah p because she was on her way to my house. i asked her to stop and get me a box of bandaids. a week later i slice my index finger open with a knife. woops. need to use bandaids again. good thing i have a whole box... then one week after that, i am making fried eggplant at 5:00 am for my drunk bff adrienne. she decides to "help" and tosses the eggplant pieces into the hot oil. FUCK! i have burns all over my hand and a few on my chest. a few blister. again time for band aids.

so maybe i should have just had my friend sarah give me one bandaid. maybe theres a curse that if you own bandaids, you will be forced to use them.

i didnt get injured this weekend, so im contemplating throwing the box away.

in other news, milo, my ibook, is broke. its been broke since wednesday. and i dont really know what to do with myself. when i wake up, i usually check my email/myspace. when i get home, and before i go to bed, i check my email/myspace. i keep having questions about things and i want to google. but no computer.

im at the apple store right now. ive been here a few times since wednesday for help, but since i do not pay to be a procare member, i can never get in for an appointment. but today is monday. the slowest day in the retail world. so i came in nice and early and i have a 2:20 appointment. hopefully milo will get healed up and the next post on here wont have to be on a mall computer.

breadsticks in the pradas

i had dinner this afternoon with adrienne and melissa at a spot in racine. an old italian pizza shop ran by the same family since 1921. its in the heart of the ghetto in racine. there is seriously a uniformed policeman, not a security man but a police man, that stands outside the place and watches the parking lot.

they serve bread, saltines, and packaged breadsticks as the complimentary apetizer. i was thinking about when i was a kid and would take the extra sticks home with me. i felt the urge to put some in my purse today and share my story about my younger years. but i felt embarrassed. and even though these are good friends, i wasnt sure if i wanted to deal with them making fun of me.

about 20 minutes later adrienne mentions that when she was a kid she used to take the breadsticks home, like an neglected child. melissa and i both immediately chimed in that we did the same. adrinne placed two packages in her prada bag and we giggled. a few minutes later we decide to take more. then more. when all the breadsticks were in our purses, i moved on to the saltines. now i have a few packages of saltines in mine, which i think i will really appreciate in a few hours when i am wasted at some bar somewhere in milwaukee.
