Friendship is the sweet nectar

I have neglected this blog for awhile now.

Too obsessed with twitter, perhaps. (not sure I can post more than 140 characters..) Or maybe preoccupied with a boy I was dating?

Not dating him anymore. Feel like he changed, wasn't ready to be the guy he portrayed himself to be when I first met him, although I believe that may be the guy he wants to be one day. But not ready. Makes me think about the book Guyland. I turned 27 two weeks ago. I have a good job and a mortgage. I still find the bars to be fun at times, but not every night. And I'm not looking to develop a relationship with a guy stuck in Guyland.

It was a bummer that things didn't work out with Guy, but better these things surfaced earlier on rather than years down the road. The man he portrayed himself to be was everything I could have asked for in a boyfriend, or potential husband. But he just wasn't ready to be that and I will keep on searching, not settling.

My birthday, aside from stuff with Guy, was awesome. Got an amazing massage with mom at a local spa. Friends from out of state came to town. Had a rollerskating birthday party. (relearning to rollerskate at 27 proved to be a challenge..) Even my favorite high school teacher and her husband came out. I am reminded that I have the most amazing friends imaginable and even if I can't find a love prospect willing to part with Guyland, I still have the most awesome friends, which are the sweet nectar of life.
